Had no idea this was located in the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. The most beautiful and interesting museum I ever did see.

The chrysanthemums were in full bloom.

This is where the biggest art heist happened in 1990. Still unsolved today.

The last piece of the puzzle for our petite entry. And just in time for Halloween.

We installed the @originalbtc Christie 36 pendant and we couldn’t love it any more. It is handcrafted in England of fine bone china with a glossy finish, is sculptural and just so pretty. It’s the perfect addition to our entry, or should we say vestibule because it sounds much more refined. Haha.

These pendants would also look great over a kitchen island or dining table.

Every space needs something handmade (the pendant), something black (the frame), something patterned (stripes and herringbone), something with texture (basket) and a little brass (the cabinet and door hardware.) #designertip

Also swipe to see where we started with this awkward and ugly space. We totally reconfigured it, installed a built in closet, herringbone tiles, painted our front door and changed the glass and hardware.

I’m still thinking of adding wallpaper in here. I have coveted a small scale Schumacher wallpaper for ages. Hmmm.

PS I bought the poster at the Museum Picasso in Barcelona and it’s an original poster of when the museum opened in the 60’s. I carried it on planes, trains and automobiles just to get it home. Art doesn't have to be expensive but it has to be meaningful.

There’s nothing like creating a home for you and your family that you love and you never want to leave. I was just away for ten days and opening my front door upon returning was like a big giant hug. Do you feel that way too?

And the biggest #designertip I can give you when renovating and decorating your home (besides hiring a design pro to make sure you don’t make costly or ugly (haha) mistakes), is to not follow trends. Just because everyone and their uncle has a cream, curved bouclé´sofa, doesn’t mean you have to have one too. 🙊 Your home should be as unique as you are.

Happy Sunday friends. I’ve been off social media for a few weeks and it’s been the best thing for my mental health. Highly recommend.

Today is World Mental Health Day. 🩷

As many of you know my husband took his life eight years ago.
It was completely out of the blue and no one knew he was struggling.
This is what I would tell him if he were still here today.

Your thoughts are not facts. That inner self critic can be deafening and the stories we tell ourselves are untrue.

Things will look different in the morning.

We will get through this.

Seeking help is not a weakness.

Reach out to a friend, colleague, family member, anyone who will lend an ear and offer support and kindness.

Plan something to look forward to. The anticipation of it is sometimes better than the actual event.

Spend time in nature.

It’s ok to not be ok.

You are not worthless.

You are not a burden.

Please stay.

All of us have had mental health struggles sometime in our life - as teenagers, after a death or loss. I certainly have struggled with anxiety, panic attacks, sadness, melancholy, overthinking, feeling inadequate, never measuring up etc. throughout my life. I know I’m not alone. You’re not alone.

Let’s keep talking about our mental health struggles (and if you don’t have any, you are blessed!) Let’s try and end the shame around not feeling our best self. Life is so precious and so short. Let’s make the best of this one life.

New obsession ✨

There’s a reason I waited almost 2 years to install a ceiling fixture in my entry. Rome wasn’t built in a day after all and as an interior decorator, I couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for - something unique, something handmade, something charming.

I have long been a fan of @originalbtc so when they reached out to partner with me, I didn’t hesitate.

Original BTC is a family owned business based in Oxfordshire, England. All lights are handmade by skilled craftspeople in the UK where they have ceramics, glass and metal factories.

This is the Christie 36 pendant with a bone china shade and their signature cotton braided cable. It’s exactly what I didn’t know I needed.

I can’t wait to share it with you when it’s installed in the next week so stay tuned for the reveal as well as an evolution of our small entry.

Front Door Before & After ✨

We finally got around to painting our front door and changing out the glass. The ornate iron in the glass wasn't our vibe so we had it replaced with ribbed glass. Much more simple and understated.

I had pinned a front door in this colour about 10 years ago and still love it. I was happy I was able to find a colour close to it. It's a beautiful blue/ green/ grey. Any guesses what it is?

We still have to replace the door handle and lighting and repair/paint the porch but it's a start.

What do you think? Please don't say you like the Before better. It just wasn't my vibe. 🤗
