I love these long and lean desks situated in front of windows. Makes you want to jump start the work day. Lots of natural light and desk space. There’s room for at least two people to be working or one working and the kids doing homework or crafts. It’s a great use of space and much better than having individual desks.
When we built our house, I had the builder bump out one wall by two feet to accommodate a desk with two workstations. Home Depot built it and I must say I love it, especially all the cabinetry for storage. Right now as I am blogging, my daughter is doing her homework – works well. (I will show a picture once I do some Spring cleaning – I promise!)

March 24, 2010I agree! I love this idea of a built-in, looks so much more chic. Who says an office space has to be ugly? Can’t wait to see your photos Vanessa, love the post 🙂

March 24, 2010These are great! We recently turned our “bonus room” into a homework room for the kids, these images remind of where we are going (and hope to get) with this project. Great post. Thanks!
Things That Inspire
March 24, 2010I just read a great post by a kitchen designer on the role of the desk – many new homes no longer have a desk in the kitchen, as it takes up so much space and wireless really enables one to use a laptop anywhere in the house.
In my new house, I will have my desk in the library! I will have a small family command center near the kitchen (dual purpose butler’s pantry/command center with 36″ high countertops) for organizational type stuff.
PS – I posted a link to you on my blog facebook page! Have you ever thought about an email subscription for your blog (through feedburner)? I have found that a lot of the design blog demographic likes to experience the blog by email subscription.

March 24, 2010What I like best about the images you’re sharing Vanessa is that they’re bright and inviting spaces to “get to work”! Who wouldn’t want to do their homework in them?! I know that I’m one for open and expansive workstations because I love to spread my work out. If only I had the space!

March 26, 2010Love to have a workspace like these ones. It is the windows that make it. Can’t wait to see your home office when it is all organized Vanessa.

March 30, 2010Love those offices. Unfortunately I’m too loud to share an office that close with someone. Sigh.
