Just popping in to wish my Canadian friends a Happy Thanksgiving and my American friends, Happy Columbus day.
The weather here (northwest of Toronto) reached record breaking highs yesterday and is a bit cooler but unseasonably warm today as well. Love it!
And for your reading pleasure…
Did you see this bedroom makeover on Lauren’s blog? I love everything she does and have blogged about her before here. She also has a new line of fabrics which will be available soon.
This is a good example of how a lighter, airier colour palette, fabric, window treatments, lighting and accessories can transform a room. A lot of people get stuck at the Before picture and aren’t quite sure how to take a room to the next level.
You can’t go wrong with bamboo/seagrass blinds, white drapes and hand blocked print bedding. Classic and timeless.
This is my favourite image from the NY edition of Australia mag Adore. Love the glossy indigo built-in in this Hamptons home.
Hope you are enjoying a fun, relaxing time with friends and family. I’ll be back soon with a giveaway and the After of a bathroom reno. See you soon!

October 12, 2011Hope you had a great Thanksgiving and that you enjoyed the awesome long weekend weather 🙂
Love the bedroom – so pretty and serene. And I’m with you, those glossy indigo built-ins are fab! Still haven’t gotten around to reading that issue of Adore – or any other magazines, come to think of it. I’m soooooooo far behind, still working on the August issue of Livingetc.
