One of my favourite brands I have had the pleasure of working with in the past is Metrie who creates high-quality, finely crafted architectural elements such as casing, baseboards and moulding. I was so happy to see that they were a #BlogTour KBIS sponsor this year.
I have blogged about them on numerous occasions. You can read about how I used their trim to create the Parisian bedroom of my dreams; or how crown moulding can make a room look expensive; or how adding moulding to a bathroom creates interest; plus I mentioned them in numerous posts while working on my One Room Challenge spaces. So, to say that I adore Metrie – their products and people (I am looking at you Miss Ashley 🙂 ) would be an understatement.

They have grown from a small family-owned business in 1926 to become the largest supplier and manufacturer of solid wood and composite moulding in North America. And their head office is in beautiful Vancouver, BC with an office and warehouse mere minutes from my home.
Their gorgeous booth (more like an entire floor of a home) at KBIS, well technically IBS (International Builder’s Show) was filled with ideas and inspiration. I’m sure all visitors to the booth left thinking, how can I use trim and moulding in a unique way either in their own homes or their clients. They had five mini spaces showcasing their Then and Now Finishings Collection™ of co-ordinating trim and doors. The Weekender’s Retreat Foyer was my favourite which you can see in these two photos I instagrammed:
I thought it would be fun to share spaces besides mine that use Metrie moulding, trim and doors in a unique way – to give you some trimspiration! (Most of these photos were taken from their Instagram accounts.)
Studio McGee always hits it out of the park and this space is no exception. Absolutely love!
Even fireplaces can be updated with trim like Shauna did here:
Love the coastal vibe in this bedroom designed by Ashley Minnings Designs:
Or this bedroom by Curtis Elmy from Atmosphere Interior Design. Trim doesn’t always have to be white:
Or the moulding on these stairs via my friend Nancy. You have to see the transformation here.
I love how the doors from the Fashion Forward collection pop against the black walls. Design by Sarah St. Amand
And I just had to share this sweet room belonging to the son’s of my friend Christine. I love how she painted everything including the crown moulding and casing this pretty blue. The rest of her house is equally fabulous.
Metrie wants to make the task of using their trim and mouldings simple and easy. Here’s where you can go for more information:

- their YouTube channel
- their The Finished Space® blog
Here are half of my fellow BlogTour peeps outside the Metrie booth. Miss them!
Thank you Metrie for being a #BlogTourKBIS sponsor. And thank you Modenus for inviting me on my second KBIS BlogTour. Stay tuned for more posts tomorrow!

February 9, 2017Thank you so much for including a shot of an interior showcasing a Metrie door. Your blog posting is fantastic and a great resource, inspirational and an enjoyable read. I love the millwork in your bedroom and plan to use more Metrie products for upcoming projects. Millwork elevates the look of a room and is a lovely design feature. Great you chose to showcase this amazing product.
