(Giveaway now closed. Thanks everyone for entering. The winner was announced on Instagram here.)
Hi there,
Isn’t this weather we’ve been having crazy? Last week we reached a record high for February (southwestern Ontario) and this week we will see temperatures below freezing. It’s during the latter that there’s nothing I love more than staying in with a good book or catching up on one of my favourite TV shows (such as This Is Us where the acting and story line are exemplary. You must watch.)
I’m one of those people who are always cold. Even now as I type, my fingers are cold even though our house is set at a very comfortable 23° C. I’m sure I inherited this from my Dad who keeps his hat on while visiting, wears long johns under his pants even indoors and who I always have to wrap up in a throw when he comes to visit. True story.
We always have a basket of throws in our living room for ourselves (my daughter and I) and guests. And we now have a Sunbeam® Faux Fur Heated Throw as well. It’s not only practical, but stylish too. Growing up, we had a heated blanket, cream wool with a satin border if I remember correctly, that my Mom would place on our beds if one of us complained of a cold or tummy ache. When it wasn’t in use, it was kept in the linen closet. This faux fur throw is so stylish that you will want to keep it on display and not hidden away. Anything faux fur is so on trend these days so if you can bring a little of that into your decor, then you have just upped the luxe factor of your space. I chose the grey and white faux fur heated throw and it looks beautiful in just about every room in our house.
A new magazine in the mail today – any excuse to get all cozy.
Another favourite of mine was the Faux Fur Reverse to Sherpa, but the colour was slightly more brown than grey so I opted for this one. I’m really, really happy with it.
The heated throw is easy to use with three heat settings, shutting off automatically after three hours. I always make sure it’s turned off when not in use, but having the auto-off feature is an added bonus. The Sunbeam® brand has been around for over 100 years and for over 80 of those years, they have provided soothing heat in products such as heating pads, warming blankets and heated throws. So to say they have perfected this technology would be an understatement. Consumers can use their products safely and without worry.
Also, unlike heated throws of the past, these heated throws are machine washable and dryer safe – the cord detaches very easily.
We have had the throw for a few weeks now during those very chilly days and nights. A day after saying that I hadn’t been sick in a long while, I came down with a cold/flu and then my daughter came down with it the week after. The heated throw was much needed. We would both lay on the sofa snuggled under the soft, warm and comforting throw.
It’s perfect for those drafty rooms like ones over the garage, such as my daughter’s room. The grey tones are also the perfect accent to her bedroom.
I also leave it in the guest room in case guests want to use it.
But mostly it stays in the living room, where my daughter and I fight over who gets to use it. 🙂 Doesn’t it look lovely with the faux animal fabric on my pillow?
So, Dad come on over. I will have the throw (and the rum and coke) ready!
Sunbeam has kindly offered to give away a similar throw, just like the one I have, to one of my blog readers or Instagram followers. You can leave a comment here OR head on over here, follow me and leave a comment to enter. Giveaway is open to Canadian residents only and ends on Monday, March 6th at 6:00 pm. Bonne chance! If you aren’t the lucky winner, the throws are available at large Canadian retailers such as Walmart, Costco, Canadian Tire and Sears and they are very affordable!
PS In case you’re wondering, TBT in the hashtag in the post title stands for Throwback Thursday which is a well-used hashtag on Instagram and social media. Get it? Throwback Thursday? 🙂

March 2, 2017Oh my gosh, I too am always cold and need to keep the temperature in my home at 23 to be comfortable! The problem is that I live with two boys (who were likely polar bears in a past life) that always feel hot, so there is no way that the thermostat stays at 23. That is why they got me an electric blanket for Christmas! I love it, although it’s nowhere near as pretty as the one you are giving away! I could live with two electric blankets, lol! The living room shots and the wallpaper across from the stairs made my heart skip a beat. I can’t wait to see more of your home!
