Hi there,
Just popping in to let you know that the video of my basement renovation shot by the House and Home magazine team is now live on their website. It’s fitting that they chose to publish my “Fun and Feminine Retreat” with the pink wallpaper on Valentine’s Day yesterday.

You would think that now that I have done three of these videos, that I would be a pro. Uh uh. Nerves do take over and your words may not come out of your mouth as you intended. But the video shoot team, Reiko Caron (Producer & Stylist) and Jason Stickley (Director of Photography) make you feel so relaxed during the process. They are both just so darn nice too! And a huge shout out to Christopher, the video Editor who wove the story together seamlessly and made me sound coherent. 🙂 Our dog Ellie even makes a few cameo appearances this time around.
I completed the basement for the One Room Challenge late last year. You can read the reveal post and link to all the sources here.
In case you are interested, here are the links to the previous two House & Home videos I did which are on YouTube. Note that they were also One Room Challenge projects.

These projects are all from my own home. You can see that I love a little colour and pattern. I realize that the rooms with wallpaper aren’t for everyone but I love them! So be kind YouTube viewers when my basement hits YouTube.
Thank you House and Home for your ongoing support and for the features over the years. I am so grateful!
Hope you are having a great start to the year. Is it Spring yet??
PS Follow me on Instagram as I post more there than I do here.

Here’s what a recent client said: “Vanessa was referred to me by a friend who was very happy with the design work she had done for them. We were in the process of renovating our basement and I just needed some direction on a few key areas. I was kind of stumped as well as overwhelmed by all of the decisions. In a few hours, Vanessa solved my design problems and we couldn’t be happier with all of her advice. The basement looks stunning! We ended up referring her to another friend in need of some design advice and wouldn’t hesitate to refer her again.” Kathleen Brown via Houzz
