Happy Tuesday! Hope you all had a wonderful long weekend (if you were lucky enough to have one.)
As I mentioned here, I embarked on a little makeover project of my own ensuite and finally got around to having photos taken. (One day, I will invest in a camera and take lessons so things can be more timely. 🙂 )
Let’s see the abysmal before again:
Crikey! I kept the wall lighting and mirrors which are from The Home Depot because I still liked them but everything else was changed. I haven’t replaced the toilet yet but will do so soon-ish.
I couldn’t find these exact mirrors on The Home Depot site as I purchased them 9 years ago when I moved in. This one is similar, although mine is a chrome finish – I love chrome in bathrooms!
And the lights are a 2-light wall sconce similar to this one – with shades facing downwards. I think they look visually better and provide preferable lighting than shades facing upwards.
The major change (besides the bold wallpaper – more on that in another post) was replacing the counter, sinks and faucets. And of course, painting out the vanity thanks to Paint it Like New.
The counter is Silestone’s Lagoon, available through The Home Depot. It is a quartz which is my go-to, tried-and-true, can-never-go-wrong-with counter choice in a bath or kitchen. (I’m sometimes surprised that potential clients have never heard of quartz and why it is such a practical and beautiful choice.)
Lagoon is predominantly grey but has a real warmth to it. It’s what Caitlin used in this kitchen. It has the look of marble without the upkeep. And trust me, I have spilled makeup, oils, you name it – everything comes off so easily. You can read all about the benefits of Silestone.
I love the rectangular sinks by Kohler and the faucets which are similar to this one.

What do you think of the transformation?
This month it is all about bathrooms at The Home Depot. They have an upcoming workshop on Quick Bathroom Updates which you can register for here. They have info on bath projects here and go here to see all of their bathroom items.
(Disclosure: The Home Depot sponsored this post but the opinions are entirely my own.)

February 18, 2014Sooooo gorgeous! Love it! I’m dying to change our master bathroom, even though we only moved in just over a year ago…we totally got the vanity wrong and it has to go! I’d also love to get a similar mirror to the ones you have.

February 18, 2014Thanks so much Julie! It took me 8 years to update/paint our vanity. Wish I had done it sooner. I’ll be following along on your makeover.
