Happy Monday folks!
Hope you had a good one. This is the time of year that is extremely busy for designers like me. Clients call hoping to decorate some rooms before the holidays. So, it was nice to host my sister and her kiddos for the weekend and not do any work (except for a new client meeting on Saturday.) So good for the soul – love those peeps!
Here’s what I also loved last week:
1) Jen’s roundup of Etsy art for the bedroom. It seems like us bloggers all have the same favourites. It’s funny how that is sometimes. One of my clients ordered a large abstract painting from Elena a few weeks ago – a local artist whose work is extremely affordable. I can’t wait to get this room photographed.
2) Danielle also did a great roundup of Etsy finds – this time geometric pillows. This one is a favourite and I am using it in the project mentioned above but in navy. (See we all like the same things!)
3) Did you see this post and listen to the interview? I bet Martha’s peeps are wishing they could take back those 25 seconds of unkindness shown towards bloggers. Geez.
4) And speaking of Home Depot (Martha does love them and so do I!), don’t forget to enter my Home Depot Bathroom Beautification contest. Only a few people have entered so the odds of winning $500 to use at the Home Depot are extremely in your favour. Go here to see the “interesting” befores. If a relative or friend could use some help with a bathroom makeover, have them enter. You have one more week!
5) Speaking of updating a bathroom, I mentioned that I was doing a little bit of work on mine (see the link above.) However, I just couldn’t wrap my head around the mustard yellow wallpaper that I originally chose. I loved it at first sight but I thought it would make the room dark when applied to all four walls. So I am going with yet another floral in the house from the same collection – but this one has a lot of grey in it so not so girly. And it has some yellow and I do love yellow but don’t have a stitch of it in my house.
When I was at the client meeting I mentioned on Saturday, she said I LOVE your powder room. I said I do too mostly because of the wallpaper – I honestly don’t think I would tire of another floral. They are just so happy! But not just any floral – it has to be large scale and bold and painterly – not cartoony or too traditional looking. You know those ones I mean, right?
That’s it for now. Sorry for being wordy and not having many pretty pics. Follow me on Instagram to see what else I have been up to and what has caught my attention. And don’t forgot to follow me on Bloglovin’ so you don’t miss a post.
Have a great week!
