I didn’t expect this one to hit me quite so hard

I didn’t expect this one to hit me quite so hard.

Maybe it’s because Dolly felt like one of those people who would just always be here. A constant. Her voice, her humour and that unmistakable sparkle somehow woven into our girlhood and carried with us into the women we became.

I loved the music, of course, but I think I loved the woman even more. What she stood for. The joy she brought. The way she seemed so comfortable in her own skin and never took herself too seriously.

There was something comforting about knowing she was out there.

This one really hurts. 💔
