Hello,
If you are new here, welcome! I’m an Interior Decorator living in Milton, ON (Canada) sharing my work and inspiration here and on Instagram.
This is week three of the One Room Challenge, where 20 designers/bloggers transform a space in six weeks and anyone can link up. You can catch up on my two previous posts here to see the before photos, inspiration and design concept:
We are hoping for an end result (in my daughter’s bedroom) much like this one (via Pinterest) with a restful palette and an assortment of art:
I really haven’t dedicated much time to the ORC this round and I’m hoping it will come together in a few weeks. I still need to order a few things! But here’s what happened this past week.
I have said this once or twice on the blog, that eliminating the stippled/popcorn ceilings does wonders to lighten and brighten a space. It’s always money well spent in my opinion. (New home builders here in Canada typically sell homes with this type of ceiling as standard as it is less expensive for them to do so. ) Her room will be painted a medium grey (Benjamin Moore Stonington Gray) next week.
And Maya’s nightstand/desk will receive a coat of glossy black paint and new brass hardware like this:

And Switch Studio will perform some magic on her current headboard using a beautiful wool fabric from JF Fabrics. Stay tuned!
Sorry I don’t have much to report this week. If you haven’t seen my three previous ORC posts and reveals, you can see them here. I am so proud of the work I did on these rooms when my heart was in the process and I could dedicate more time and energy. But having said that, I’m sure this reveal will be a good one too – not drastic changes but still a lovely outcome!)
Thanks for following along and don’t forget to check out what all my fellow linking participants are up to here. I’m sure they fared much better than I this past week. And thanks Linda for once again organizing the ORC. Have a wonderful week! (We have to be up in about four hours for another dance competition. Wish me luck!)
(And thanks again for all your support in person, via texts/emails and on social media during this difficult time.)

April 21, 2016How did you remove the popcorn ceilings? Did you hire it out? I have them all over my house in MN and hate them.
