Discovery Call
The first step is always a chat. I look forward to speaking with you. During this15-minute call I’ll learn a bit more about your project, tell you a bit about myself and my work, and together we’ll determine the next steps.
Step One: Design Consultation
Every project, large or small, begins with a Design Consultation. This is either a one-time consult during which you’ll get immediate answers to some of your design dilemmas along with valuable design advice; or it may be the jumping off point to working with VFID on a more long-term basis. Step Two: Proposal
Once we know the scope for a Full-Service Design project, we determine a flat fee for our design work. We prepare a document outlining the scope along with the fee and submit it to you. Once you sign off on this we move forward to Step Three.
Step Three: Design Concept and Presentation
This is the most creative part of the process. We’ll meet onsite again to take measurements and photos. During this process we develop design schemes tailored to your tastes, personality and lifestyle. We work on space planning, prepare floor plans, solve design problems, and select furniture, finishes, fixtures and materials. This process also involves soliciting quotes from our trusted suppliers and trades and culminates in an in-person Presentation. During the Presentation we’ll share the complete proposed design for each space, including mood boards with photos, material and finish samples and floor plans. We know that you’ll love everything as much as we do, but if not, one round of revisions is included.
Step Four: Project Management and Construction Support
During Step Four we’re busy placing orders, organizing deliveries and making site visits during construction. We work with our trusted partners and suppliers and oversee all the moving parts and troubleshoot any hiccups along the way. We ensure that the Design Concept is executed correctly and in a timely manner.
Step Five: Installation & Styling
Whether a renovation or a decoration project, the install is where the Design Concept comes to life. We make sure all the furniture is arranged correctly, art is hung, shelves and tabletops are accessorized, and seating is ready to welcome you. These styling details bring in the charm and personality that make a room truly inviting. When you see your new space for the first time, we know that you’ll feel instantly at home
