Hello friends,
It has been awhile since I’ve blogged – a year in fact. And what a year it has been, right? 😩 I hope you all have been staying healthy and happy as we weather this storm together.
Because of the pandemic, we’re all staying in our homes more so why not give it a little update with faux florals and plants. Back in the day, my Mom used to decorate with them – actually she still does both indoors and out. And remember back in the 90’s when dried flower arrangements were everywhere. I remember going to craft shows on weekends and waiting in line to buy one. Fast forward to 2020 and faux florals and plants have become so realistic and have earned a place in home decor. Most designers use them to style with, especially on bookcases where it would be difficult and messy to water real plants. And sometimes a faux tree fills that void in a space where you need something with height.
I love real flowers and greenery, don’t get me wrong and if I could have them in my home all the time, I would. But that’s impractical and costly. And when it comes to real plants, I can’t seem to keep them alive – even succulents! So, the next best thing are faux florals and plants and I was so happy when Décors Veronneau reached out to me to showcase their product. They are a family-owned Quebec based company that has been around for 30 years. They offer a vast selection of artificial plants and flowers, custom floral arrangements, and green walls that can be scaled for large or small projects.
I loved browsing through their site and choosing products for a client and myself. They have such a wide variety of florals and plants to choose from, as well as vases in all shapes and sizes.
I had finished this bathroom awhile ago but never had it professionally photographed. There was space by the tub and it was just calling for a plant. My client purchased a real fiddle leaf fig plant but sadly it died over time. Now with this 6′ tall ficus tree, she never has to worry. The chevron patterned belly basket is also from Décors Veronneau and I love the texture it adds and how it works well with the other beautiful elements in the space.
And here is a close up. It looks so real, wouldn’t you agree? And the trunk is actually made from the trunks of real trees and manufactured in Quebec where the foliage is also created. I think the tree adds so much to the bathroom.
I’ve had a really difficult time figuring out how to style my dining table over the years. Nothing ever looked right. But these orange wild starflowers (2) are just perfect and add a fall vibe especially against my black wall. But I have to say that my favourite element is the white-gold textured ceramic vase. The shape and the finish is perfect and really on trend right now.
Even Miss Ellie agrees.
I chose the ecinops bush because I love the texture and the creamy neutral can work anywhere. I used two bunches and they are so pretty sitting on my kitchen counter in this beautiful bronze stoneware vase. I love the patina on the vase – it actually looks vintage and is just so charming. (The size I have is out of stock at the moment but I have linked to another size.)
You can have fun arranging this one. I think it looks whimsical – not perfect.
I also tried this on my dining room table to see how it would look. I can always play around with the arrangements and move them around…for years to come!
And last but not least, I paired their yellow wild thyme bush (6) with their matte black ceramic vase. The great thing about artificial flowers and plants is that you can place them outdoors for instant colour and texture when entertaining, even if it’s just your pup (or those in your bubble. 😉)
I then placed them in my home office and they look equally good on my shelves, don’t you think? Faux arrangements can work in any room in your home.
I have linked to all the products above – just hover over the product name. (It’s hard to notice the links as they are close in font colour to the rest of the type. ) You can browse the Décors Veronneau site to see all of their products. Shipping is free on all online orders over $100 and they even ship to the United States.
Let me know your thoughts in the comments. Would love to hear from you! {This is a sponsored post but all opinions are my own. I only work with brands that I love!}
Stay well,
