Wishing everyone a Happy Canada Day. It’s a perfect summer day here in Milton, Ontario (not too hot.) Kelly at Design Ties wrote an informative and witty post about Canada.
This cake is a Canadian classic and so easy to make. I’m sure I have made it at least a dozen times. Click here for the recipe – I use real whipped cream instead of the fake stuff.
Read an earlier post to get some ideas on decorating with red.

July 3, 2010How pretty!
You know, I have always wanted to live in Canada. I just know the country and I have a karmic love affair. Perhaps one day I too will make this gorgeous dish in celebration of living in your gorgeous country!.. 🙂
Hope you had a fab national day!

July 3, 2010We make the same cake every year. Can’t beat fresh local strawberries and freshly whipped cream. Yum. I made this for my neighbours when we lived in the US, they got to celebrate Canada Day with us and then we lived it up on the 4th with them!
