Hi friends,<\/p>\n

Oh boy, that was the quickest four weeks ever as here we are at the fifth blog post for the One Room Challenge (ORC.) Time always seems to slip away from you during the final weeks. But this ORC is different for me than the other three I have participated in as I am doing a “lite” version to bring some fun and joy into our lives (see my week one post.) And decorating should be fun, right? I am redecorating my daughter’s bedroom to create a space for her that is quieter (less colour and pattern) than the previous version and more grown up.\u00a0 She is soon-to-be 14 after all!<\/p>\n

The photographer is coming on Monday so I only have a few days to style the space and hang art. But it’s all doable and fun so I’m not worried. (The art hasn’t arrived yet but that’s my fault for ordering late. If it doesn’t arrive, I guess we will be DIYing it on Sunday!)<\/p>\n

This is the shortest ORC post I have ever written as I have only the above photo to share with you.\u00a0 I really disliked the upholstery work that was done on her headboard previously (see floral one below) –\u00a0 the shape was off and the pattern matching was abysmal. So, I decided to use the services of Staci Edwards<\/a> who owns a reupholstery and sewing shop and who I have worked with previously.\u00a0 Her team performed surgery on the headboard to make it look like how it does above. Much better, right? And the grey wool blend headboard fabric<\/a> from JF Fabrics is just so perfect. I have yet to pick up the bedding or the large, floral pillow so I borrowed the above from my bedroom. But I’m loving the black, white and grey palette. Quite a change from the red, coral and pink we had going on before.<\/p>\n
