That was my intention because who wouldn&#8217;t want to know the answer. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>Welcome to Week 3 of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oneroomchallenge.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">One Room Challenge<\/a> in which I am renovating my daughter&#8217;s bathroom and documenting the process in six blog posts over five weeks. (The photographer is booked for May 8th &#8211; less than 3 weeks away!) You can catch up on the before photos and the design concept here:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/vanessafrancis.com\/staging\/2018\/04\/one-room-challenge-spring-2018-fresh-teens-bathroom\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Week 1<\/a> | <a href=\"https:\/\/vanessafrancis.com\/staging\/2018\/04\/one-room-challenge-week-2-spring-2018-teen-girls-bathroom\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Week 2<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I know from experience, having completed seven ORC&#8217;s that this is when things are either moving along as planned or things are at a standstill. In my case, it&#8217;s the latter. And it is no one&#8217;s fault but my own. You see, I committed the cardinal sin of renovating which is&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">TO NOT HAVE EVERYTHING ON SITE WHEN THE RENO BEGINS<\/p>\n<p>Usually, I am planning, scheming and ordering product weeks in advance for client projects or my own but with this project, I didn&#8217;t decide to participate until the day before the first blog post was due. (I know I sound like a broken record but I need to explain my lack of progress. \ud83d\ude42 ) Couple that with indecisiveness (it&#8217;s way easier to design client spaces than my own, right designer friends?) and we are where we are. My contractor spent one day last week demoing the bathroom &#8211; removing the tub, toilet, floor and wall tiles. If I had the bathtub and shower rough in on site, then the plumber could have installed both the next day and on the third day, the tiling <em>could<\/em> have begun.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6866\" src=\"https:\/\/vanessafrancis.com\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Wee3.jpg\" alt=\"Vanessa Francis Design\" width=\"480\" height=\"640\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The doors and the drawers of the vanity are being professionally sprayed at <a href=\"https:\/\/paintitlikenew.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Paint it Like New<\/a>. They are waiting to hear back from me on the colour choice and I am thinking black or navy which would look great against the faint lavender or blue walls. Again, my fault for leaving my tile selection until last week. I am partnering with <a href=\"http:\/\/hd.jeffreycourt.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jeffrey Court<\/a> and I cannot wait for the tile to arrive next week. You can see my selections in the concept below &#8211; fish scale\/fan tile for the tub surround and a marble basket weave for the floor. How lucky is my daughter? These are tiles that are available at the Home Depot in the US and Canada &#8211;\u00a0 affordable and available which is key when renovating.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you for weighing in on my dilemma on Instagram and here. Have always loved the simple design of the Trinsic as well as the finish.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">That&#8217;s all I have for you this week.
